A party to celebrate the completion of Roy's walk is planned by a
reception group for 4th July 2002 at the official end of the South West Coastal
Path.
Roy should reach the end of the walk around the middle of the afternoon - we expect the champagne corks to pop and some small celebration to occur before taking Roy off to his hot bath and then a dinner somewhere in Bournemouth.
Do join the celebration if you can - if not look out for photographs on 5/6 July when I have sobered up enough to get them up onto the internet!
The location of the Walk Finish party will be adjacent to the Car Park on Ferry Road as indicated on the map below.
The SWCP hugs the coastline from Studland to the ferry across to Sandbanks and Poole. The official end of the SWCP is at the ferry landing on the Studland end of the crossing. The champagne will be sprayed here.
Get to the car park soon after lunch and walk out to meet Roy along the coast. Roy will be the one with a big blue pack on his back and sporting an even bigger grin. He will be slowing down by the time he reaches the end as his final two days are of 16 and 17 miles in length.
